Restaurant Nutrition Database
When you choose to eat out at a restaurant, you generally lose control of exactly what is put into the dish. The chef might have bulked that sauce up with 8 pounds of sugar, and you'd never know by looking at it on the menu. It's wise to be curious when you are eating out! Ask the waitress what comes with a given dish. Learn how to judge the calorie, fat, and carb content of different dishes. It is your body that will be affected!
Keep in mind that most restaurants give you large sized portions assuming you'll take some home with you. So take it home! Leftovers are a great way to keep your health intact and to enjoy the delicious flavors later on as a separate meal. If you just get too tempted by the plate in front of you, ask right at the beginning to have half of it packed to go. The waitress will understand, it's a common thing for people to do.
Here are the restaurants we've found in the nutritional database. If you come across any others we've missed, please let us know! Just click on any name to see all the food items currently indexed for that restaurant.
Applebee's
Cracker Barrel
Denny's
Pizza Hut
