AFN
****If you are looking for AFN it seems to have been taken off the Directv lineup. According to their website there is an issue pertaining to money and customers are encouraged to contact their cable or satellite provider and request the station be added.****
Look out CMT and GAC, there is a new kid on the block doing what you used to do on a regular basis, play videos. If you are sick of turning on your television to hopefully catch some of your favorite videos and finding reality shows check out Artist and Fans Network.
I found this station by accident while flipping thru the channels on Directv and was hooked. Not only do they play the well known artists, but they also play up and coming artists. It is a refreshing change after watching CMT go from Country Music Television to nothing but reality shows most of the time. The first day I watched I had it on for 6 six hours and not once did they replay a video. Nonstop videos all day long where I don’t have to go online to see them.
There are a ton of fans that have complained and complained to CMT about the lack of country music on their station to no end result. GAC is a bit better but still plays more than videos most of the time. How are non mainstream, non superstars supposed to get their videos out there if no one is playing videos? How can you call yourself a country music station if you don’t actually play county music most of the time? And even if you do play videos you don’t play the entire thing and the host of the show talks over the video, it’s irritating to the fan. AFN plays videos, nothing but videos with no hosts talking over them and the fans don’t have to scratch their heads trying to figure out how the show on their channel fits into country music.
If you have Directv, check out channel 325, it’s definitely worth your time. Check out their website at https://www.afncountry.com and see what their mission statement says. Videos 24/7/365, no infomercials, no reality shows, they are about the music and need fan support.
