Sometimes a song will just grab at your heart and stay there. It stays with you because somehow the combination of the melody, arrangement and lyrics resonates in you with deep meaning. One such song is the final tune on Kristin Andreassen's "Kiss Me Hello" CD project titled Faith. Kristin explains the song portrays a hopeful theme. On the surface, it seems deeply spiritual but the power of the song is far more intricate. According to Kristin "the song is more about learning to have faith. Learning to have faith in change. That change will bring about what is meant to be brought about in your life." She chose it to be the last long on the CD because she wanted to leave her listeners with a hopeful reflection.

The concept conveyed by the song is based on the Law of Attraction. As we envision our lives, we create the energy necessary to direct a change in our lives which will bring to fruition that which we envision. The idea in the song is simply that "every moment that we call the future eventually comes to past and becomes the present." The cliché, "today is the tomorrow we dreamed about yesterday" is a reality of each of our lives.

I like what Kristin has to say through the lyrics of this impactful song. The themes are love, hope, faith and peace. Are these not the ideals we all strive for in our lives? It challenges us to dare to dream even in the face of doubt because our dreams are worth believing in.

What does this mean for each of us? To me, it means we must have faith that we are where we are supposed to be right at this present moment but we need to have hope and faith that we will manifest the life we want bringing about love and peace.

Musically, the tune creatively melds a subtle Celtic melody that softly underlies the primary melody until it unfolds into an obvious jig. There are times when the arrangement softens to a whisper before opening back up to emphasize the theme. The subtle Celtic feel was intentional. According to Kristin "you sort of have a sense that it's there but then there's these little bits of it before it swoops out. It's meant to be this foreshadowing and then it happens. Then there's the little dance jig at the end." This enigmatic technique enchants the listener to follow along through the delicately spun melody. It also ties beautifully to the lyrical theme when you consider the power within foreshadows the change we wish for the future and then it happens. This is where the hope and faith foreshadows all that is to come for us.
