Amanda Walther (DA) and Sheila Carabine (LA) are who make up this acoustic Canadian folk music duo called DALA. Together for 10 years, they have released 5 CD projects, completed a PBS production called "Girls from the North Country", have won several achievement awards and regularly sell out venues for their live performances.

Amanda and Sheila have been close friends and singing partners for better than 10 years. As you observe these vocal phenomenon, the differences between them are apparent. Amanda sings with sweet soprano vocals to match her sweet and delicate persona contrasted with Sheila's alto harmony reflecting her casual, earthy demeanor. Each have pitch perfect voices which blend together in tight harmony. As they sing, they trade lead vocals with ease and bring additional power to the song while harmonizing the key phrases. Beneath the vocals sits Sheila's acoustic guitar strumming out the melody, accompanied by Amanda sometimes on guitar, or glockenspiel and on other pieces the two share the piano.

Prolific song writers, a live DALA show is filled with their self written songs and only a few covers that have been arranged in their own distinctive style. Stylistically, they deliver unique arraignments of their own music as well as the covers they choose to sing.
